Since 2003 when the International Fair of Traditional Crafts started happening in Etar Open Air Museum in Gabrovo, an Artisans Competition has been held along. It recreates the bets between artisans specialized in different crafts that used to be held during the Bulgarian National Revival. In 2016, the competition's subject was tablet weaving usually practiced by women. Together with the six Bulgarian female participants, the wager for the best belts was joined by a Dutch, a Romanian and a Ukrainian artisans. Under the rules of the competition each participant creates a belt which is a copy of a traditional belt from the Etar museum’s collection and a unique style of its author belt. The winner of the "Silver bell" Grand Prix was Mariyana Dimitrova (Plovdiv).
